The annual grand event in the communications industry&mdashthe Communications Competition&mdashhas been held since 2002, with the number of participants increasing year by year. Especially from 2021 to 2023, both the number of teams and participants reached historic highs, with a total of 1,465 teams and 2,486 participants over these three years. In 2024, the competition format has undergone a major transformation with the launch of the upgraded international contest, Mobileheroes Global, creating more opportunities for sparks and exchanges between Taiwanese teams and teams from other countries. During the registration and recruitment period, the Communications Competition specially held the "2024 Communications Competition Alumni Homecoming Day," inviting nine teams who had won awards in recent years to gather together and share their growth after participating in the competition. Additionally, this year&rsquos sponsoring companies include Chunghwa Telecom, FarEasTone, GREIGNS, HTC, HwaCom, Pegatron, Qualcomm, Taiwan Mobile, Taoyuan International Airport, UfiSpace, and others. Representatives from several companies also attended to engage as industry mentors and sponsors, gaining insight into the teams current development. At the same time, the teams had the opportunity to network with each other and new possibilities for collaboration.
At the opening of the event, Mr. Tseng Wei-Hua, Section Chief of the Electronic Information Industry Division at the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, shared: &ldquoThis is the first time we have organized an Alumni Homecoming Day. Since the Communications Competition began in 2002, it has now been held 23 times. This platform has increasingly gained attention from the industry, and we hope to use it to help the communications sector models that integrate hardware with software, and hardware-driven software, thereby generating more added value for Taiwan&rsquos network communications industry. The nine teams returning today are all outstanding and full of potential. We look forward to more sparks flying between the teams and the industry, creating mutual value.&rdquo
